Get Involved!
We are so glad you are here. SGNA is a collection of neighbors volunteering their time to make the neighborhood a better place to live. There are many ways to help make the neighborhood a more inclusive and resilient community. We hope you join us!
You can start with anything from sharing an event, idea, or problem to joining the neighborhood meetings to engaging with one of our committees or workgroups. We welcome any level of commitment, skills, and abilities and will try to make a place for everybody.
Attend a Board Meeting
Board meetings occur monthly on the third Monday. All meetings are conducted both in-person (location varies) and virtually so it is accessible to all who are interested.
All meetings held virtually and in-person
Meetings are open to the public and begin with a public comment period where any person may bring up concerns and possible actions. Meetings are part of the public record and meeting minutes are approved and posted as part of the next, subsequent meeting.
If you have an idea, comment, or concern you want read into the public record but are unable to attend, we are glad to facilitate.
General Meetings
Twice a year, spring and fall, the Board is glad to host the obligatory General Membership Meetings. These include a report from the Board on the state of the Association, financial report, and annual directors election.
During this meeting we provide time for neighbors to connect, invite presenters to tell us about interesting and often high-profile activities affecting the neighborhood, and showcase recent projects and activities.
This, as with all meetings, is provided both virtually and in-person.
Join a Workgroup
Workgroups are where ideas are turned into action! Committees support workgroup projects that may be as simple as writing a letter for the Board to approve to a multi-year project that may involve interaction with City of Portland government, local businesses, impacting area developments, and more! We want to help you create a vibrant community in Sullivan's Gulch, and we need your help.
View the current and active workgroups below. If a workgroup has a communication channel, it will be listed. Otherwise, reach out to learn more or get get involved!
