Neighborhood Garage Sale set for Saturday, July 23
It's that time again - the Gulch-wide Neighborhood Garage Sale is scheduled for Saturday, July 23 from 9 am to 5 pm. We'll be posting signs at major intersections and placing an ad in the Oregonian to bring people your way. We're going to try something different this year, we'll ask participants to make a donation to offset the cost of signs and advertising on the day of the sale. So get your basement, garage and closets ready! And let's hope the weather cooperates! For information call Lisa Pearlstein at 503-249-0996.

New Development Proposed for the Albina Fuel Co. Site The Arntson family, longtime owners of the Albina Fuel Co., (the five acres between Fred Meyer and NE 33rd Ave.) in partnership with SMR developers of Spokane WA have begun the process for city approval of their proposed development for the five-acre site at NE Broadway and 33rd.
On Thursday July 21, 2005, planner Peter Fry will present plans to the City in a Pre-Application meeting to allow the developer to get a sense of how the City will be reviewing their application. Several city bureaus will be represented. While the meeting is open, no public comment will be taken.
For a full description of the proposed development, go to our website at http://www.sullivansgulch.org/landuse/albina.asp
Based on the outcome of this meeting and subsequent department reports, the developer will decide how to proceed. The SGNA Board and its Land Use Committee have already been in contact with the family’s agents and with the reviewer in the City. We will be asking for your thoughts as we receive information and have timelines for neighborhood comment.
