The public will be asked for responses and reactions, and will vote on which alternatives to pursue. A followup meeting is expected to be held in early August, at which time the Consultants will present their final proposals.
At the kickoff meeting on June 5, the Consultants presented a large amount of background information, data, and maps, and received comments from the people in attendance. Their presentation is available on our web site. Since then, they have been exploring options, and are now ready to present these to the public.

Gulch Trail Concept Explored
The featured presentation at the Spring General Meeting was Mel Huie of Metro describing the concept of a pedestrian-bike trail running from Gateway (99th Ave) to the Eastbank Esplanade along the Willamette River. Such a trail, could provide a good way for bike commuting, as well as recreational use. Numerous connections to the adjacent neighborhoods would have to be provided to be useful. Although only a dream at this point, the possibility of the trail is now included on Metro's regional maps. Considerable neighborhood support would
have to generated to make it a reality. The first step would be planning
studies to determine the alignment. If you'd like to get involved in making a Gulch Trail a reality, contact Lynne Coward, SGNA Land Use Chair,
