Albina Fuel Co. City Council Hearing
The Hearing Examiner issued his findings on March 1 which supported the recommended zone change and Comprehensive Plan Amendment with 3 conditions: upgrade 32nd Ave, prohibit left turns onto Broadway from 32nd Ave., and establish a TDM (Traffic Demand Management Plan) to encourage alternate modes of transportation. This recommendation will now go to City Council for final approval on Wednesday, April 23 at 2:00.
The SGNA Board will discuss this issue and decide on its response at the next Board Meeting on April 8, or at a subsequent Board Meeting prior to the hearing. Art Monument on Weidler St and the While the Farrel's Ice Cream parlour was being demolished, the monument art work to be located at the Northeast corner of 16th and Weidler St. is moving forward. Artists are being interviewed now, and by late May/June we hope to have an artist selected to design the artwork ... Meanwhile the sign cap projects is also moving ahead. A final survey of the neighborhood signs have been completed .... The complete report is on our web site...

Bring your household trash, yard debris etc. to the dumpsters at NE 17th between Clackamas and Wasco. Metal recycling will be available on site. New Offerings at Irvington Market Broadway Floral (1638 NE Broadway) has opened a shop at the Irvington Market, offering a nice assortment of flowers and plants. Newmans has added dairy products to their regular fish & meat offerings, so you can now get your milk and eggs. And the Cheshire Cat Deli has added a Wine Bar where you can try a variety of wines and cheeses. Meanwhile, a new produce market is being sought to replace the departed Kruger Produce. We urge our neighbors to keep supporting this wonderful local market. |
