Lloyd Center District
The Lloyd District runs from NE 16th Street
west to the Willamette River, and contains a major shopping mall, office
towers, mixed retail and housing.
At its western end are the Oregon Convention Center and the Rose Garden sports arena
The Lloyd Center Mall adjoins
Sullivan's gulch on the west, and provides a large variety of
shops.
Irvington Neighborhood
Irvington is a historic, residential neighborhood north of Sullivan's Gulch, starting at Broadway, between 7th and 26th Streets.
Albina Fuel Company
This area has been the home of the Albina Fuel Company for many years, but the company moved to Vancouver recently.
In April 2003, the property
was rezoned to allow redevelopment with a mixture of commercial and residential
uses.
There are several conditions placed upon the development of this property,
and the SGNA is actively involved in this issue.
Grant Park
This neighborhood runs from Broadway north, and from NE 22nd street east.
Grant Park has two schools
that Sullivan's Gulch children attend, a large park, and a
mixture of commercial and residential property.
Broadway
Business District
This stretch of Broadway
contains a wide variety of shops, restaurants, coffee houses,and offices that
serve Sullivan's Gulch and Irvington. This unique district also draws people
from well beyond the neighborhood.
Within easy walking distance
of most Sullivan's Gulch homes,
it is one of the neighborhoood's primary assets.
Sullivan's Gulch
Residential Area
This area of high density multi-family housing
provides for
a transition between the
commercial Lloyd Center area
to the west, and lower-density
residential housing to the west.

This area is primarily
medium-density multi-family housing, and acts as a transition
between the high density
multi-family zoning to the west,
and single family zoning
to the east.

Tree-shaded streets and a
mixture of single and
low-density multi-family
housing typifies this area.
This area between NE 21st
and 28th street is currently
zoned for high density
single-family homes.
Holladay Park
Sullivan's Gulch's only park features a plaza with a delightful
interactive fountain and sculpture.
Sculptor Ted Savinar met with
the neighborhood, which
supplied both ideas and a
model for the sculpture.

Tri-Met Max
Light Rail Station
This station serves Sullivan's Gulch and
the Lloyd District., Trains run evey 10-15 minutes west to downtown Portland
and Hillsboro, and east to
Gresham.
Lloyd Center
South Parking Lot
This large parking lot serves
Lloyd Center, and is adjacent
to the Max Light Rail station.
This block, along with other parking lots surrounding
Lloyd Center, could be used for commercial development
in the future.
High Density
Multi-Family
This area runs from 19th to 21st
on the south side of Multnomah Street. It continues down a rather steep slope
to I-84.
Like the property at the western edge of the
neighborhood, it is zoned for high density housing
with some commercial.
Kerns Neighborhood
This neighborhood lies south
of I-84, and adjoins Sullivan's Gulch.
Kerns is home to the
Elementary school and a Technical High School that Sullivan's Gulch children
attend.
Industrial Area
This area along I-84 contains a number of storage facilities and other buildings.
Fred Meyer Store
As one of the busiest of
Fred Meyer's locations, this store serves both Sullivan's Gulch
and Northeast Portland.
Broadway
(east of 28th)
Commercial District
This section of Broadway is
currently zoned for General
Commercial use, and contains
a mixture of businesses and
offices .
Weidler Street
This street is coupled with Broadway (traffic
running
east on Weidler and west on Broadway).
At NE 24st street, traffic going
east on Weidler is routed
up to Broadway, which then
becomes 2-way.
Weidler is commercial within the Lloyd District and at the western edge of Sullivan's Gulch. At 17th Avenue, Weidler becomes residential.
